Mountain Cabin

This cabin is near Plain, a small community  northwest of Leavenworth.  It is the perfect place for that special getaway or reunion where you can enjoy the splendor of the great Cascades.

A mountain meadow with a beautiful high country view awaits your arrival.

Mountain Cabin View

The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathes and a loft.  It is finished in knotty pine with logs above the kitchen area.  The kitchen has a trash compactor, dishwasher, microwave oven as well as a range/oven.  This hideaway is simply beautiful.  There is central heating as well as a wood stove.  Power is a 40kw generator.  The generator starts with the flip of a switch inside the house.  The building is well insulated so that noise from the generator is very minimal.  The cabin has air conditioning.  There is also a propane refrigerator.

Outside there is a very large deck around the east and south sides of the building with bench seating the entire length.

Mountain Cabin Wild Flowers

Springtime is a truly glorious time of the year up here with abundant wildflowers.  The air is morning crisp with the hint of the afternoon sun.  The swallows will be gliding around the cabin as you enjoy your morning coffee on the deck, enjoying the the view of the snow capped mountains.

Summer can offer the outdoor enthusiast a wealth of activities.  From hiking to mountain biking to swimming or fishing at Lake Wenatchee there is a lot of fun to be had.  A summer breeze will help you enjoy that relaxing moment as you enjoy the sunset from the deck.

The fall colors in the area are truly magnificent with mountain blueberry, birch and vine maple adding to the crisp fall experiences. Watch the salmon return up the Wenatchee River to spawn.  Enjoy the crisp Autumn air while riding your mountain bikes along River Road.

There is a hardware and grocery store in Plain with many local restaurants to provide that special breakfast or dinner.  Leavenworth is a short drive away with its unique shops and restaurants.

Mountain Cabin Winter View

For the winter season experience, the cabin has a great inner tube hill by the cabin and inner tubes are provided.  There is also an air compressor to tighten them up if needed.  Snow shoes are available for the adventurous hikers.  The road is plowed but you will need to chain up or have 4X4/all wheel drive for the drive way (about 1 mile).

Lake Wenatchee State Park is approximately 20 minutes away for further recreational activities, which include a swim beach, boat launch, horseback riding rentals and hiking trails.  Also in the area are snowmobile sno-parks and cross country trails for winter recreation.

Bedding and towels are provided.  The cabin is a non-smoking residence.

There are many board games at the cabin as well as an air hockey table.  In the loft is a TV that can play videos (sorry far beyond any TV reception).
